I designed several websites in the past, only to delete them again. The current website is my third. I hope I will keep this one for some time. Why?
As a musician/artist, having a website makes you appear serious and professional. Promoters and fans can have a specific place to access all your content. More importantly, nowadays, promoters can download information about you and your activities and decide whether to book you.
While for most creative people, promotion is a driving force for a website. My second motivation is the ability to include a mode of communication or an outlet to release all my thoughts without censorship. I realised that social media as an outlet to share my ideas does not appeal to me. I always feel like I am just sharing my thoughts with people who have no interest in what I do. Although doing it here feels the same as social media, the difference is that only those interested in my activities will come here. I can just be myself and write whenever I feel like.
I will use this blog like a diary to share my thoughts on music. I am still unsure if my other interests, like fitness, might interest readers of this blog. Only time will tell. For now, let's keep it to music.
